 I don't suggest the protocol as an effective tool IF it's being used to force avoidant children to tolerate unpleasant sensations against their wishes.

There is no evidence to suggest sensory sensitivities can be treated with exposure therapy 

However, this is a fantastic tool when used to create independence, trust, self guided therapy and for seekers!

I have used it to give my child control, self guided brushing was how he ended up trusting and wanting haircuts! 

It's an excellent tool for seekers who LOVE light touch too. Does your child want you to lightly scratch their arms etc?
